Michelle L. Hamilton earned her master's degree in history from San Diego State University in 2013. Hamilton is the author of “I Would Still Be Drowned in Tears”: Spiritualism in Abraham Lincoln’s White House and “My Heart is in the Cause”: The Civil War Dairies of Private James A. Meyers, 45th PA Volunteers. Her work has appeared in the magazine The Citizens' Companion.

In her free time, Hamilton is a Civil War and 18th-century living historian.  Born and raised in California, Hamilton now resides in Ruther Glen, Virginia and is the manager of the Mary Washington House in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  You can follow her at her blog http://michelle-hamilton.blogspot.com.
